Ordinary lives, ordinary things, familiar places - the stuff of life - the cycles, the interconectedness of life on this planet, is the philosophy behind what I try to recreate in my artwork; be they drawings, paintings or other works. Owly Eyes
INDIEOWL: The beautiful little Spotty Red Caped Owl (or PET as it is often
referred to - an acronym of its botanical name, Petulantea Energetica
Tawnnii) was until recently thought to be extinct, as the last sighting
was around a year ago when bird watchers claim to have seen a poacher
capture one. It has a sweet but determined nature, as its name suggests.
However, in recent times it has been sighted again on a few separate
occassions, much to the joy of 'Friends of PET', a group dedicated to
the reintroduction of this unusual caped bird to its natural habitat. It
is believed that owl can suddenly turn on, and use its sharp talons to
defend itself from captors and those HOOM it perceives to be its
enemies.

Kids & Other Portraits, plus a Dream Home...
three drawings done on 'google chat' whilst taklking to the person in the middle portrait, and when I had no drawing materials handy - 1) Self-portrait, 2) portrait of someone I was chatting too', 3) 'two birds with one stone'. Maybe it's realy all one big portrait or a triptych - part of the same story anyway!

Two little birds - drawings and studies
Not sure how it works, probably should have left the bird out and still called it that, and it it would have worked just as well with the second drawing. It looks a bit cluttered now.
The second drawing is
called 'kol-ok, kol-ok' which translates as 'captured bird'.

Henry David Thoreau
The Crocodile Under the Stairs - C.U.T.S series
A few different ideas for various paintings in this one with a few tentaive working titles:
Acts of Cunning, Abuse and Treachery.
Narcissistic Tendencies.
Mummy, Mummy, Money.
Cunning on legs - Abuse & Male Loathing
Cunning on Legs - Death Trap
The Silencer.
Ideas for two paintings - 'Your House is on Fire...' and 'Fiddling While Rome Burns'.
This drawing, will I think, eventually be turned into two paintings - split down the middle. The bird will I think be a kookaburra, laughing and carrying two children away from the burning house while the woman fiddles and her lover sits under a tree and the children's father is the tree's shadow... or buried under it...or its roots... or all the above...
I love You / Blinded by the love.
The one (above) is a cose up of the original (below) - Maybe less is more. Approx 5cmx7cm, acrylic on paper.
The Mask I: The Girl That Cried Wolf
The Mask II: Croc Tears and Tats - that's what this little girl is made of.
The Crooked Horizon (with croc, tat, narcissus).
(Image forms and symbols - Skeleton, blue and brown. Fishnet tights, Narcissis flower, crocodile tears, see-through clothing, eye reflection of itself, mask, yellow (straw) hair, red tattoo with fingers crossed.... and 2 little ning-a-nings looking on.)
Ordinary lives, ordinary things - the stuff of life - the cycles, the interconectedness of life on this planet, is the philosophy behind what I try to recreate in my artwork; be they drawings, paintings or other works.
In Crocodile Under The Stairs (C.U.T.S) the ordinary lives, ordinary things - the stuff of life, the cycles - have been disrupted, fractured, distorted, broken and destroyed.
Enjoy.
